Sidewall Belt

(Inclusive with GST)
In modern bulk material handling, optimizing plant layout and maximizing vertical space are critical challenges. Traditional flat conveyor belts are strictly limited by friction, generally capping incline angles at 15 to 20 degrees to prevent material rollback.
The sidewall conveyor belt (often referred to as a corrugated sidewall or pocket belt) is an engineered solution explicitly designed for steep-inclining and vertical bulk material transport. By integrating corrugated rubber walls and transverse cleats onto a specialized cross-rigid base belt, this system transforms traditional friction-dependent conveying into a mechanical pocket containment system.
  • Cross-Rigid Base Belt: The structural foundation. It is engineered with high transverse (crosswise) stiffness to stay perfectly flat under heavy loads and prevent sagging on return rollers, while maintaining the longitudinal flexibility needed to wrap smoothly around drive pulleys.
  • Corrugated Sidewalls: The flexible, wavy rubber borders hot-vulcanised to the edges of the base belt. Their accordion-like design allows them to flex without cracking around pulleys, while creating a deep lateral barrier to contain bulk materials.
  • Transverse Cleats: The horizontal shelves or dividers positioned between the sidewalls. Available in various shapes (T, C, or TC profiles depending on the steepness), they mechanically partition the belt into independent loading pockets to scoop and lift material without rollback.
  • Free Lateral Margins: The narrow, flat rubber tracks on the outermost edges of the base belt (outside the sidewalls). These provide the clean surface area required for deflection wheels and return rollers to guide and support the belt without contacting or damaging the vertical profiles.
